The Womens Club of Lacey
holds a monthly collection of tuna fish for us and has hit the 1000 mark! The December total was 91 cans
of tuna for a grand total of 1,099 cans for the year (along with other appreciated pantry items and donations)
and that's no fish tale!
Craving Cupcakes owner Denise Field combined a raffle with a food drive, resulting
in several crates of food.
Our esteemed sponsors Pat & Al Carlson, who recently took up residence in our new senior
community, Sea Breeze at Lacey, held a reverse garage sale, inviting everyone to participate in a garage "give-us-food" drive. They
exceeded all expectations with this huge haul of food. Thanks to all our new friends and neighbors at Sea Breeze at Lacey.
Residents at Toll Brothers' Sea Breeze at Lacey collected a large amount of food for
the LFB. Thanks to this new friend of the LFB and to sales managers Patty Schmeling and Anne Marie McNally, and sales
receptionist Carly Baldwin.
At the Annual Lacey Elks Lodge #2518 Parade, their youth group "The Antlers" walked the parade
route with shopping carts collecting food donations. These contributions, added to the food already collected
by the club, tendered a substantial amount of groceries for the LFB - a whole van load!
LFB teen volunteers
Dan McAvoy and Devin Osterman, along with adult volunteers Donna McAvoy and Maddie Stapleton, went to Cedar Creek School in
November and collected bags, bags and more bags of canned tuna, chicken and other food items time and spent time sorting and
shelving.
Two fine gentlemen from the Forked River Presbyterian Church's Youth Group and their
leader Steve Lundy came by the LFB with a van load of food, 291 items in all, from their food drive along with $25 in cash.
At their December
meeting, the members of the Fish Hawks Salt Water Anglers Club cast their lines and reeled in ten bags of groceries for the
Lacey Food Bank. They plan to continue this collection at every monthly meeting, and that's no fish tale! Thanks
to Ken Rylak for coordinating this excusion into deep sea donating.
Lacey High School
is a major player in this war we wage against hunger. The Student Government Association or the "SGA" is one of many
benefactors we have at the high school and a good friend indeed. The group holds an ongoing collection of food for us
each fall, and two members of the group, Alex and Meagan, arrived at the LFB with a car load of groceries from the SGA this
week.

The Lacey High School Interact Club came to the rescue
of the LFB in October by setting up a donation box in the lobby of the high school and collecting some 50 bags full
of mmm, mmm, good soup!
The Residents at Sea Breeze held a food drive
in December. Thanks to Al and Pat Carlson who organized the drive and collected the food in their garage.
Good neighbors making a difference!
The faculty at the Cedar Creek School held a food drive
for the Lacey Food Bank this month. Having the school step up to help fill the shelves for our ever-increasing need for
food supplies is very much appreciated. And, thanks to Jen Bentley who organized the drive!
Brownie Troup 137 from Land of Pines School in Howell,
New Jersey, filled 95 Halloween-themed snack packs for the Lacey Food Bank Kids Halloween distribution.
We salute the Boy Scouts of America Packs 35 and 156
who collected 451 bags of groceries, $20 and 3 large jugs of water for the Lacey Food Bank during their annual collection.
VFW Post 10018 held a successful food drive and donated
a $240 check to sponsor a family.
The ongoing collections by our friends from the Forked
River Presbyterian Church enrich our shelves. Additionally, the Hunger Action Team of volunteers buy and sort fresh produce
each month, a very healthy & welcome addition for our clients. Pastor Terry also serves as a supportive trustee
to the food bank.
The tiny tots tots at the Precious Journey Preschool
at the church held a food drive with the help of Director Diana Turiano, .
The Village Lutheran Church has been a major contributor
to the food bank stores with Trustee Pastor Roy Minnick providing help from the beginnings of the food bank.
The Rotary Club gives all the families a full Turkey
dinner at the Thanksgiving distribution, from cranberries, stuffing, turkey and pies... assisted by the Jr Rotarian service
Interact Club from Lacey High School.
The Lacey Soccer Club gets out there twice
a year and brings us many many bags of food. The Club's 2nd Annual Christmas in August benefit marked
the official start of the Lacey Food Bank Kids Christmas Campaign. More than 95 new toys, games, books and art supplies
were collected, as well as a $205.00 donation from the Snack Stand.
Silver Cloud Marina held a nautical flea market and
collected $108 in donations as well as two boxes of food for the pantry.
Thanks to Craig at Manhattan Bagel who gives us huge
bags of bagels for monthly distribution, a treat for all.
And to the good folks at Walmart for their monthly donations
of assorted boxes of food.
Nancy Moody, owner of the Forked River Diner, sends us cases
of cereal on a regular basis.
Janice Celmer is a one woman food drive, a consistant benefactor
for the last several years, storesmaster Dick loves to see her pull up with her trunkload of food.
Lacey High's Student Government Association (SGA) collects food
throughout the school year for the food bank.
Eileen Odom held her own food drive and came up with a trunkload
of food for the storesmaster.
Brownie Troop 538, Forked River, gifted us with Girl Scout cookies.

Nicole Spaloss"s Troop 507 toured the food bank and brought
food with them as a donation.

GS Troop 238 used their cookie money to go shopping for food
for us. They then delivered and sorted the items and in doing so each scout earned a GS Way badge "caring through sharing"

Rich Hauswirth is no stranger to the Lacey
Food Bank and has been supporting us in many ways for many years. When he launched the November Hauswirth newsletter, the
Lacey Food Bank was happy to be named as the beneficiary of the FACEBOOK LIKE CHALLENGE! For every new Facebook "Like", the
Hauswirth & Sons Insurance Consultants would donate $1.00 to the Lacey Food Bank. How easy was that! You clicked and the
Lacey Food Bank got a buck - $620 bucks! Thank you, Rich & Margaret Hauswirth, the Hauswirth Associates and all Hauswirth
Fans who flexed their index finger and hit that LIKE button!
The
office of Dr. McGillick from Wharfside Chiropractic
has made it a holiday tradition to forgo Christmas Cards and instead, gifts the Lacey Food Bank annually with a check. Many

Lacey Food Bank and the Lacey Food Bank Kids Committee shared the spirit
of Christmas at the Tenampa Restaurant, Forked River Girls Only Christmas Mix and Mingle to benefit WIIGGS and the Lacey Food
Bank. It was a double win with a carload of new toys and non-perishables for us and a new partnership of support
from and for the women of Lacey Township. Thank You Sharon Good of Tenampa Restaurant for generosity
and hospitality!
Last
month USCG Flotilla 7-9 came by to give us a check for $500 and promised to return. They are men of their word - they gifted our
happy storekeeper with a second check for $500 just in time for the holiday. The Auxiliary has been very supportive of the
Lacey Food Bank and for that we thank them.
Kathleen Canning
and other district managers from the Wells Fargo Community Partners presented the Lacey Food Bank with a generous donation
of $ 1,000.
The US Coast
Guard Auxiliary has been a staunch supporter of the LFB. They presented a check for $500 with the promise to return
with another check in December. With this gift they will be supporting two families for a year with monthly fresh supplementary
food and $10 Shop Rite gift certificates.
The Intergenerational
Club, comprised of seniors, teacher advisors and youngsters from all Lacey School District elementary schools, arrived at
the LFB with a busload of non-food items, paper goods, cleaning supplies, soaps, detergents and more. This is an ongoing
donation they do for the Lacey Food Bank every year at the end of November.

Tony Caporale, owner of Caporale Pet Supplies, Inc. in Waretown is another fine example
of how the business community responds to our needs. Tony has been transporting food for our food bank every month since
the state put the kibosh on using open bed trucks.
C&R Plumming and Heating Inc. in Lanoka Harbor, a hometown business since 1978, is joining the Lacey food Bank
Fight Against Hometown Hunger. Starting 11/19/11 and running through 12/19/11 C&R Plumbing and Heating will make
a contribution to the Lacey food Bank Kids for every LIKE on their FACEBOOK page.
More than 35 students of the Lacey High School
Interact Club provided the manpower to pack and distribute complete turkey dinners to 205 families at
the Thanksgiving food distribution on Friday. For more than 25 years, Thanksgiving Dinners complete with all the fixins' have
been provided to needy families in Lacey, Waretown and Barnegat by the Forked River Rotary. With turkeys donated by Walmart in Lanoka Harbor and the Lacey Shop Rite, the students from the Lacey High
School Interact Club joined the volunteers of the Lacey Food Bank and 6 volunteers from WithumSmith+Brown PC Toms River Office to
experience first hand a 21st century version of the shared harvest feast that served as one of the first Thanksgiving
celebrations.

to the efforts of our liaison at Walmart, Ms. Doreen Padovani and to Walmart, Lanoka Harbor, General Manager, Mr. George W.
Smith, for his continuing support, LFB Kids will have nearly $2,000 of Halloween costumes and accessories to wear including
wigs, accessories and make up.
Recently, Food
Bank Co-Chairman Laura was called to Town Hall to receive a check from the Municipal Alliance in the amount of $400.00 representing
prize money that had been donated back from some very community-minded Lacey Township High School students who participated
in the Lacey Municipal Alliance K5 and Family Run and WON! Thank You and Congratulations on a race well run to
LTHS students Danielle Leavitt, Abby Gauthier, Noah Jacobs and Ryan Flannery.
The
Fish Hawks Salt Water Angler's Club members casted their lines and caught a $100 donation for LFB. Now that's one that
didn't get away!
The
Hauswirth Insurance Agency, long time supporters and promoters of the Lacey Food Bank are collecting food, boots, hats, mittens
and toys through December for the LFB Kids. They are also donating one dollar for each "like" they receive on FACEBOOK.
The
Lacey Food Bank Kids Christmas Campaign 2011 had a great start at the Lacey High School PTSA & Secretaries Craft &
Vendor Fair in November. Sincere thanks to the many old and new friends who stopped by our table to say hello
and drop a donation in our jar or bring a new, unwrapped Christmas gift for the Kids. We closed up shop
with 6 full bags of new, warm, winter clothing and $244.77 to add to our shopping fund.
A
very special thank you to our friends at TARGET/Manahawkin for their very generous contribution to the LFB Kids Christmas
Campaign.
Although
the 1st Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest sponsored by Tenampa Restaurant was slammed by the Nor'easter that hit our state, spirits
weren't dampened. Attorney Rose Trafton was on hand to judge the entries and said it was a tough job! We thank General
Manager Sharon Good and Tenampa Restaurant for partnering with the Lacey Food Bank and look forward to the 2nd Annual Pumpkin
Carving Contest next year!
Captain's Inn in Forked River provided the just
perfect setting for a repeat of the much awaited "Psychic Night" with entertainment provided by Charmed and Company.
The LFB Kids Committee wants to thank everyone who came out and supported this event. The night's net profit of $901
will help us reach our goal of providing Christmas gifts to each of the more than 200 children on our food bank client list.
Amergen donates $3,000 to pay for insuring
and registering the Food Bank Van. And bless good ole Jack Ryan from the Recreation Department who keeps it together for us
!
ShopRite of Lacey, besides being our benefactor in
so many ways, along with being a major esteemed sponsor, designates their hot coffee sale proceeds to us. At
50 cents a cup, they've accumulated over $7,135... And that's a LOT of java.
What a great guy Pat Allen is. Not only is
he one of the first to sign up as an esteemed sponsor each year, but he uses his many skills to perform volunteer handyman
jobs for our elderly clients - everything from fixing a screen door to replacing a light fixture or thermostat. Pat's our
man !
The new Lacey Food Bank Kids Committee
collected more clothes and toys than we had room for, so George Broome stepped in and as owner of Lacey Storage , solved the
problem with the donation of a lovely roomy unit. Now the LFB Kids committee happily runs back and forth
stuffing it with all sorts of good things .
Another good friend of the food bank down at the Lacey
Business park is Tom Trenholm, owner of RegalPrinting "INKorporated". For the last several years, Tom has printed us
thousands of fund raising fliers gratis - which in turn have helped us raise many thousands of $$ to support the needs of
the food bank.
We have a good friend at the Forked River
Gazette. Thanks to Jennifer, the word has been spread about our Memorial & Celebrations page.. Thanks Jennifer for that
and for publishing our schedule each month.

Our newly designed trophies were made gratis
by Scott Ritchie from Ocean Trophies. He cleverly worked in our signature shopping cart for our first annual FOFB (Friend of
the Food Bank) award, given to Casey for all the help he and his DEP employees give the food bank.
Volunteer Janet Jordan donated a wshing machine to a
desperate client in need of one. Then Pete installed it for her. A many talented chairman he is, for sure.
Thanks to Mayor Quinn for donating his fee for officating
at marriages to us.
We are so grateful for all the helping hands from
Lacey Township - the office support from township administrator Veronica Laureigh & her staff - Fran & Pat - Casey
Parker & his monthly food moving crew sent to us (sheer salvation) - Bud, Jack & Fred, the great guys in the
recreation department who provide transportation and delivery to the housebound.
And finally, the support we receive from the township committee.......We
